Personally, I could flip a coin to decide which of these places to travel to & I'd be perfectly delighted with either of them; the lavender fields of North Carolina or Lac Rose of Senegal.

GUYS GUYS GUYS GUYS GUYS........ Guess What?
Guess who just opened her Etsy Shop?? This girl!! I am super stoked. Last weekend I decided to make myself a hammock chair just for fun, because I'd never completed a macrame project that big before. I fell in love with the finished product. Like seriously, I have not been able to take my eyes off of it for the last week.
As it happens my life took an unfortunate turn of events the week before. I suddenly found myself unemployeed & with a huge amount of time on my hands. When I got the hammock done I was on a crafter's high, reveling in the finished product. I was really let down afterwards, all I wanted to do was keep on creating.
I have posted about Etsy more times than I care to count, even saying that I wanted to open my own shop. It took me a bit, but last night I finally connected the dots!

Right now I only have the hammock chairs up, but I am literally O V E R F L O W I N G with ideas.
I can't wait to get my first order so I can start with some new stuff!

Apartment Envy: Maisons Du Monde
Maisons Du Monde, aka 'Houses of the World', is fo SHO my new favorite home-dreaming site. They have pretty much anything you could ever think of in terms of eclectic decor.
My personal favorite: happy bohemian.

Apartment Envy: Daydreamin
Not so very long ago it was moving day for me. That was a rough week. It was just the man & me moving across campus. Moving just an apartment doesn't sound like a ton of work but it was brutal. Thank god Ikea makes light furniture, otherwise I think I would have tipped over & died. Three weeks later I still wake up with a back I can barely bend.
The new place is over 1.5 times bigger than the other place (I did the math) & it is incredible what a difference it makes. I literally wake up some mornings & wander around. I have a few plans & schemes in my head already, decor-wise. (See exhibit A :D)
To the point: I'm looking for ways to bring some color into the place. White walls, carpet, couch (mistake), & dining furniture leave the apartment light & airy, but it needs something. Like a cool statement wall or funky colored curtains.
As a side note, I would DIE to have this pattern incorporated somewhere. Alas, it is a wallpaper & that's a no-no for us renters.
Obviously, none of this is happening. I'm just daydreaming.

My Birthday Is Only 2 Months Away....... *hint*hint*
Guess who just signed a new lease with her loverman?
This girl :) Our curent apartment
looks like a catalogue for Urban Outfitters & I bare no shame for that. The way I see it, you like what you like & you can't apologize for that. No matter if people call you a hipster or whatnot, you just got to do ya thang.
I am super excited for a HUGE space upgrade with this apartment, we are going to have legitimate walls! I cannot WAIT to get this mural up, maybe use it as a curtain so it's backlit. Idk, we'll figure it out.
8.3 x 7 feet aint nothin to sneez at, yet Urban Outfitters has it at a supper cheap price of only $50!
Funny how I also have a birthday coming up, huh?

Apartment Envy: Haus of Cute
Hello, this is your real life calling, begging for a dose of fancy, maybe even whimsy if you will.
How CUTE would your entire life be if you lived here? To start with, let's not even pretend like polka dots are not the best pattern in the universe. Plus a white picket fence? Classic. It was featured in Time magazine, April 14 1952. (Look at my scholastic citation skillz go! Tuition dollars hard at work folks.)
If I were lucky enough to live here, I do believe I would take it to the next level with some neon ceilings and an ultra femme vintage kitchen. Welcome to my future.

Apartment Envy: Studio Life
The way I see it, the Swedes have everything. Ikea, hot women, cool scenery, & awesome chocolate. They are always coming up with cool shit like this. Granted, they don't have a lot of space, but they sure know how to work a square foot or two.
If someone could just transplant me here I think I'd be quite happy for the rest of my life.
I'm not crazy about the living room area of it, but you can't have it all I suppose. Although, this does violate my "Swedes have it all" theory.

Apartment Envy: FAD House
I don't know why architects are always naming things "_______ House". It's kindof strange & trendy, which are two things I always like.
I cannot get enough of this house, I am having a ton of trouble deciding which pictures to post. Then I realized that it's my blog & I can do whatever the hell I want so I am about to bombard you with pictures whether you like it or not.
I'm thinking this was definitely designed for a woman of the girlish sort, since pink is in almost every room. That and it is stinking gorgeous. FAD Design Group did an amazing job on this project.
........ & Cue pretty pictures. (You can click on the smaller ones to enlarge them)
^^ This is probably the most impressive shot of the whole set ^^
You can thank British Colombia, Canada for the view. After you wipe that drool from your chin, please.
Can we focus for just a second on this lighting? I cannot imagine what it would cost in electricity to light this place for a month.
^^ This work space would make me so happy, you have no idea. ^^
Don't even get me STARTED on this bathroom. I don't think I could ever say enough about how much I love it.
All in all, I love how subtle its minimalism is. I'm pretty confident in saying that this house is sheer perfection.

Apartment Envy: If You Want To Live In An Old Mill
This mill was is ruins until interior designer Marie-Laure Helmkampf (check out her portfolio!) came along & rehabed it. In the south of France no less.
Lucky bitch.

Mistinguett
Oh hai, Mistinguett, famous French actress from a vintage era, how are you doll? I am completely obsessed with this picture, I've been google searching it for two weeks.
I needs to find it n' get it n' hang it.

Elevator Music
.......
I kid you not, 10 minutes later I've stumbled across this exact print here along with a BUNCH of others that are just as amazing. The $60 price tag is a bit disappointing but still, I'm excited. She seems to be quite a character, no? Oh, OUI.... I crack myself up.

Apartment Envy: Home Office Makeover
I'm knee deep in my own jealously over this home office. If i were asked to pick out one thing I didn't like, I would literally fail. I don't think there is a single element here that is anything less than fabulous. There are like 3 DIYs rolled up into this one makeover, so the kudos to her factor is through the roof at this piont. Check out more of the before & after at her website, ...love, Megan.
